Taylor Nizich, MS, CCC-SLP, CAS, is a pediatric speech-language pathologist, Certified Autism Specialist, and bilingual Spanish-English SLP with more than 10 years of experience working with children and families across hospital, private practice, school, and academic settings. She earned her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Arizona State University and is licensed to practice in North Carolina.
Taylor is passionate about helping children become confident communicators by meeting them where they are and building on the ways they naturally connect with the world around them. Her clinical interests include early language development, Autism, AAC, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, bilingualism, speech sound disorders, social communication, and language development. She takes a child-centered, play-based approach to intervention and believes therapy should be meaningful, individualized, and connected to the child’s real life.
“Compassion is a prerequisite to speech pathology” is a guiding philosophy in Taylor’s clinical work. She believes that before we can teach a child a new skill, we must understand the child in front of us—their strengths, interests, communication style, experiences, and the ways they feel most comfortable expressing themselves. For Taylor, effective therapy is not simply about producing more words or more accurate sounds; it is about helping children feel successful, understood, and confident as communicators.
Taylor is particularly passionate about Total Communication, embracing speech, AAC, signs, gestures, visuals, and other forms of communication as valuable tools for helping children express themselves. She loves finding creative ways to help children discover their own communication strengths and believes that every child deserves access to a communication system that allows them to participate, connect, advocate for themselves, and be heard.
She is equally passionate about caregiver education and coaching. Taylor believes some of the most meaningful therapeutic moments happen outside of the therapy session, when families feel confident incorporating communication strategies into the routines and interactions they already have with their children. Through her writing and teaching, she hopes to bridge the gap between clinical evidence and what therapy actually looks like in real life—giving SLPs practical, compassionate, and evidence-informed ideas they can bring directly into their sessions and share with the families they serve.
Taylor is the founder and owner of Taylor Nizich Speech Therapy, PLLC, a pediatric, home-based private practice in North Carolina.
