School-based SLPs are being asked to do more with less. Growing caseloads, increasing paperwork, and tightening district budgets have made an already demanding job even more challenging. For many clinicians, continuing education has shifted from a district-supported benefit to a personal expense.
We wanted to better understand what school-based clinicians were experiencing, so we asked. The responses were difficult to ignore.
Behind those numbers are real people making difficult choices.
Some have shared that they've stopped attending conferences altogether. Others have described using personal savings, credit cards, or even foregoing other expenses just to maintain their professional development. Many simply want access to current, evidence-based learning so they can better serve their students.
As a company founded by SLPs, we know continuing education isn't a luxury. It helps clinicians stay current with research, discover new therapy strategies, meet licensure and certification requirements, and continue providing high-quality services to the students who depend on them.
That's why we're introducing the Speech Therapy PD Back-to-School Scholarship.
If you're a school-based SLP or SLPA whose district no longer provides adequate funding for continuing education, we'd love to hear your story. Applications are open through July 16.
Apply for the Back-to-School Scholarship
Scholarship recipients will receive complimentary registration to the Speech Therapy PD Back-to-School Conference, taking place July 18-19, 2026.
During this two-day virtual conference, you'll learn from experienced school-based clinicians on topics you can immediately apply in your practice.
The scholarship is available to eligible school-based SLPs and SLPAs whose districts no longer provide adequate funding for continuing education.
This scholarship won't solve the larger funding challenges facing our profession. But we hope it helps remove one barrier for clinicians who are committed to continuing to learn and providing the best possible services to their students.
If this sounds like your situation, we encourage you to apply before July 16.

And if you know a school-based SLP or SLPA who could benefit from this opportunity, please share this scholarship with them. One opportunity to continue learning can have a lasting impact on both a clinician and the students they serve.
