Sandra Combs, PhD, CCC-SLP, is the program capstone coordinator and an assistant professor in the Speech-Language Pathology Doctoral Program at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions. She earned her BA in speech-language pathology and audiology at the University of Kentucky in 1988 and her MA in communication sciences and disorders at the University of Cincinnati in 1990. She worked clinically for several years in private practice and in schools before returning to the University of Cincinnati, where she earned her PhD in communication sciences and disorders with a focus on language and literacy. She was an assistant professor at the University of Cincinnati from 2009 to 2019. Her research and teaching interests include language development and disorders, language-based literacy disorders, phonetics, speech sound disorders in preschool children, parent/teacher collaboration and coaching, and the use of ultrasound for correction of /r/ and /s/. She currently resides in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
