Rachel Johnson, PhD, CCC-SLP, is an associate professor of speech-language pathology at Old Dominion University. Her clinical research interests focus on the implementation of person-centered care and augmentative and alternative communication for individuals with acquired neurogenic communication disorders. Her research examines the cognitive and procedural aspects of learning, with specific interests in the structure of practice, feedback schedules, and motivation—aimed at optimizing communication, participation, self-efficacy, and quality of life.
