Rachael Rietdijk

PhD, CPSP
Dr. Rachael Rietdijk, PhD, CPSP, is a certified practising speech pathologist and Lecturer at the University of Sydney. Her research focuses on acquired brain injury, communication partner training, and digital health. Dr. Rietdijk’s PhD led to the development of TBIconneCT, an evidence-based intervention for individuals with traumatic brain injury. She was the project lead for the Social Brain Toolkit, which includes interact-ABI-lity—the first free, evidence-based online program designed to teach effective communication strategies for interacting with people who have a brain injury. This program has reached over 1,500 users across more than 25 countries. Dr. Rietdijk is an active collaborator on the Communication Connect NHMRC Ideas Grant and the Communication for Safe Care NDIS Information, Linkages and Capacity Building grant. Her work is internationally recognised, with 24 peer-reviewed publications and three book chapters. She continues to mentor research students exploring the role of digital health in communication partner training.
