Monte Torkelsen

Monte Torkelsen, M.Div, has devoted his career to working with children and youth across all ages. With over 25 years of experience as a Youth Pastor and Camp Director, he brings a deep understanding of the transformative power of connection, play, and spiritual care—believing that there’s a kid living inside each of us. Monte currently serves as President of Abba’s Child Grief Camps, where he helps connect camps and counselors to support children and families navigating unexpected grief. His work centers on creating safe, healing spaces in outdoor settings where compassion, community, and nature come together to foster hope and understanding.
