She attended undergraduate school for Language Studies at University of California Santa Cruz and graduated in 2001, and earned her graduate degree in Communication Disorders and Sciences at California State University Northridge, in 2006. Interestingly, in 1999, she taught English in France (CIEP), and as well as in Japan (JET) in 2002.
