Marilouise E. Nichols, MS, CCC-SLP, BCS-S, is a medical speech-language pathologist specializing in dysphagia and neurogenic communication disorders in adult inpatient rehabilitation and acute care. She currently works full-time in adult acute care, evaluating and treating patients with a wide range of acute and complex medical diagnoses.
As an Early Career Professional, Marilouise is passionate about mentoring students and pre-professionals in speech-language pathology, drawing from her own experiences navigating the field. She is an active member of the National Black Association for Speech-Language and Hearing (NBASLH), leads discussions for her local community stroke support group, and supervises graduate clinicians.
Marilouise is also the founder and writer of *MEtheSLP.com*, a professional blog dedicated to empowering and engaging young minorities in the field of speech-language pathology through mentorship, insight, and advocacy.
