Dr. Laura Mattie (formerly Hahn), PhD, CCC-SLP, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Speech & Hearing Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her research centers on identifying emerging communicative and social phenotypes in individuals with neurogenetic disabilities, and examining how early developmental strengths and weaknesses may shape later outcomes.
The goal of Dr. Mattie’s work is to clarify early developmental patterns and map the trajectory of skills that support improved communication outcomes. Her research informs the identification of treatment targets and early intervention strategies that foster well-being and promote positive developmental pathways.
