Dr. Kristin Koch, AuD, is the owner and lead audiologist of Evolution Hearing. She earned her Doctor of Audiology degree from A.T. Still University in 2012, following her bachelor's and master's degrees from Western Michigan University. She is a member of the Academy of Doctors of Audiology (ADA) and the Audiology Practice Standards Organization (APSO), and she serves as a preceptor for doctoral audiology students.
Dr. Koch is also an adjunct faculty member at James Madison University, where she teaches the audiology business course to doctoral candidates. From 2021 to 2024, she served as Vice President for Audiology on the board of the Speech-Language-Hearing Association of Virginia (SHAV).
After working for many years alongside ENT physicians in the Culpeper area, Dr. Koch opened her own independent private practice in Charlottesville in 2012. Since then, she has been an active member of the local community, participating in the Chamber of Commerce and Elder Care Professionals groups.
Originally from Michigan, Dr. Koch and her husband, Drew—Associate Director of Bands at the University of Virginia—moved to Charlottesville in 2005 after living in Columbia, South Carolina. They are both involved in the Charlottesville community and at UVA. At home, their two children, dogs, and a small flock of chickens keep them on their toes.
Dr. Koch is passionate about providing personalized, evidence-based hearing care. She is committed to using best practices, including comprehensive testing procedures and verification tools like real ear measurements. She values the involvement of spouses, family members, and friends in the care process, believing that a team approach greatly enhances the patient experience.
Her dedication has earned her numerous awards, including the “Best Bedside Manner Award” in Audiology from OurHealth Magazine, and multiple recognitions in Charlottesville’s Finest as both a top audiologist and hearing aid center.
