Kentaro Fujita

PhD
Dr. Kentaro Fujita is a Professor of Social Psychology and Decision Psychology in the Department of Psychology at The Ohio State University. He received his A.B. summa cum laude in psychology from Harvard College and his Ph.D. in psychology from New York University. His research examines why people often make decisions and behave in ways that undermine their valued goals despite knowing what they want to achieve. Drawing from research in motivation, cognition, self-regulation, and judgment and decision-making, Dr. Fujita studies the psychological processes underlying self-control and goal pursuit, including how the ways people mentally represent situations can influence their ability to manage temptation and pursue longer-term objectives.
