Katherine has always been passionate about helping others. She discovered her love for Speech-Language Pathology while she was in graduate school and realized that her true passion is working with individuals who have complex communication needs (CCN). Over the years, Katherine has worked in a variety of countries including Madagascar, South Africa, England, and the USA. In her pursuit of quality care for the CCN population, Katherine has built a private practice, Autism and Brain Institute Inc., and a consulting firm, Wallisch & Associates Inc., that is dedicated to empowering families and clinicians. She has a team of 15 clinicians that work exclusively with children who have complex communication needs, providing them with holistic care. She has broadened her dedication to working with the CCN population by being a Community Faculty Board Member at the University of Reno, School of Medicine as well as a Board Member on the Development Board for the Brain Injury Research Foundation (BIRF). Katherine’s private practice is an official partner with BIRF to continue supporting research into furthering our improving therapies and treatment for pediatric brain injuries. Katherine has 2 children and in her spare time, she likes to ride horses, snowboard, and travel with her family.
