Dr. Joanne Steel, PhD, BSPTH (Hons), CPSP, is a lecturer at The University of Newcastle, Australia, and a practising speech pathologist with over 15 years of clinical and research experience working with adults with traumatic brain injury (TBI). Her research focuses on improving clinical methods for assessing and treating cognitive-communication disorders following TBI.
Dr. Steel has published more than 20 journal articles and two book chapters. She is currently co-developing a story-based intervention program designed to support individuals with cognitive-communication disorders after TBI.
