Dr. Jin Wang is an Assistant Professor at the UCLA and is the director of the Brain, Language, Education, and NeuroDevelopment (BLEND) Lab. Her research combines behavioral assessments with neuroimaging methods, including fMRI, structural MRI, and diffusion imaging, and uses both cross-sectional and longitudinal designs to investigate individual differences in the development of the linguistic brain and their relationship to academic achievement. Her research aims to develop a neurocognitive model of phonological, semantic, and syntactic development during children’s first ten years of life and understand how these developing language systems relate to reading and mathematics.
