Jerrold Jackson, MA, CCC-SLP, is the CEO of The Roundtree Group, PLLC, and a passionate advocate for culturally responsive practices. His diverse professional background includes roles as an assistive technologist, special education director, graduate program coordinator, and consultant. He holds both a bachelor’s degree from Southern University and A&M College (an HBCU) and a master’s degree from Western Michigan University, each in Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences (SLHS). Jerrold has presented nationally, by invitation, on topics such as supervision, mentorship, interprofessional education and collaboration, school-based support, and culturally responsive practices. He also supports the next generation of speech-language-hearing professionals as adjunct faculty at three institutions across the country. An active professional volunteer, Jerrold serves in various capacities with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), is a board member of the National Black Association for Speech-Language and Hearing (NBASLH), and contributes to the Praxis National Advisory Committee for Speech-Language Pathology. These efforts have contributed to advancements in the SLHS field. In recognition of his impact, Jerrold was selected as the SLP Co-Chair for the 2024 ASHA Convention, which hosts more than 10,000 professionals annually. His accolades include the 2022 ASHA Dorothy Dreyer Award for Volunteerism—granted to one individual each year for outstanding contributions to the profession—and being named to the Southern University Alumni Federation’s “40 Under Forty: Cohort Trois” in 2021, which honors alumni who have made significant contributions to their profession, community, or to Southern University. Jerrold remains deeply involved in community outreach, especially through student engagement efforts with the Southern University Alumni Central Texas Chapter.
