Dr. Erica V. Roberson is a California native, speech-language pathologist, and assistant professor in the Department of Communication Science and Disorders (CSD) at the University of Montevallo (UM). She completed her Bachelor of Science in CSD at Alabama A&M University. Immediately following, Dr. Roberson relocated to Washington, D.C., where she earned both her Master’s and Ph.D. in CSD at Howard University.
Dr. Roberson’s research interests are centered around cultural and linguistic diversity and African-American English (AAE), with a specific focus on the evolution of language across generations. Dr. Roberson has provided services in diverse clinical settings, including the school system, outpatient rehabilitation, and private practice. She also serves as a supervisor for graduate student clinicians in the UM clinic. In her spare time, Dr. Roberson enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, trying new foods, and attending church.
