Becky Hales, AuD, CCC-A, graduated from UNC Greensboro in 2009 with a degree in Deaf Education and served as a teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in several school districts. As a teacher, she taught in resource settings, inclusion settings, itinerant roles, and self-contained classrooms for students with multiple disabilities.
She has taught students from preschool to high school, using both American Sign Language and spoken English depending on the needs of the students. She also has a child who receives special education services, giving her the perspective of a parent of a child with a disability.
Becky recently started a website, inthewrongstory.com, where she discusses issues affecting people with disabilities from multiple perspectives, aiming to build disability awareness, accessibility, and collaboration.
