Ashley Northam is the Director of the SLPA program at Chemeketa Community College in Salem, Oregon. Ashley has served on various ASHA Committees related to the scope and professional practice of SLPAs. Ashley has served as a past Chair of the Oregon Board of Examiners for Speech Pathology and Audiology, Past President of OSHA. Ashley's clinical experience include early intervention, K-12, and adult care settings.
Ashley has practiced in a variety of settings involving SLPAs, educational assistants, instructional aides, and students, and is a recognized leader in SLPA training and advocacy. She previously served a six-year term as Chair of the Oregon Board of Examiners for Speech Pathology and Audiology and continues to collaborate with the licensing board in a consultative role.
Nationally, Ashley represented Oregon as a delegate to the ASHA Advisory Council for Speech-Language Pathology for over eight years. She has also chaired and contributed to multiple ASHA ad-hoc committees focused on SLPA development, including the creation of the Associate Membership for SLPAs.
