Michelle Ivey

Michelle L. Ivey, PhD, CCC-SLP, is an instructional faculty member in the Communication Sciences and Disorders Department of the University of Houston. There she teaches graduate and undergraduate classes in child language development and disorders. She also teaches the clinical methods capstone class and serves as a clinical educator for on-and off- campus clients. She has worked in both public school and outpatient clinic settings. Dr. Ivey is an expert in child language, with a particular emphasis on communication for young, minimally speaking, and autistic children. Dr. Ivey’s research interests include supporting master’s level student thesis work with intervention studies, particularly using single-case research designs. She also participates in community outreach events including sharing information with families during faculty-led learning abroad events. Dr. Ivey is the core faculty for speech-language pathology for the LoneStar LEND program.
