Rebecca Robbins is a speech language pathologist who has spent the bulk of her career helping children, young adults, and families impacted by autism. She has worked in various settings over the course of her 16 year career including a private school for children with autism, Early Intervention & Preschool agency work, as well as a public school. She is now the proud owner of Mind Shaper SLP, LLC where she provides 1:1 speech therapy, executive functioning and life skills coaching for individuals in their teens and twenties, hosts social groups for ages 8-25 called Buddy Group, provides parent consultation services, as well as, online parent training programs. Her current online programs focus on teaching parents how to foster communication in their own homes by using strategies such as social stories, visual schedules, and how to use her proprietary hand cues protocol to teach their non-speaking or minimally verbal children to talk. Rebecca is trained in various autism treatment methodologies, including relationship development techniques, and is a certified Hanen Centre More Than Words® practitioner. She has extensive knowledge and experience in the areas of autism, apraxia, executive functioning skills, feeding therapy, mindfulness, augmentative communication & assistive technology, and parent training. Rebecca currently lives in Pennsylvania, and provides services in The Hudson Valley, NY and in Montgomery County, PA. Outside of her role in the world of speech language pathology, Rebecca is passionate about theatre arts. She performs in multiple regional productions each year, directs children’s musicals as often as possible, and brings her dramatic flair to all her speech therapy sessions and online videos.
