Missy Schraeder

Missy Schraeder, PhD, CCC-SLP, CALT-QI, C-SLDS, is the Director at the DuBard School for Language Disorders at The University of Southern Mississippi, a special public school for students with significant communication disorders. Previously, she served as the school’s professional development coordinator and a classroom speech-language pathologist. She received her doctorate degree in educational administration and her master’s degree in speech-language pathology. She has been a practicing nationally certified speech-language pathologist for 25 years and is a Certified Academic Language Therapist-Qualified Instructor (CALT-QI), and a Structured Literacy Dyslexia Specialist (C-SLDS). She has served as an undergraduate instructor at The University of Southern Mississippi in the School of Speech and Hearing Sciences and currently teaches in the Dyslexia Therapy master’s degree program in the School of Education. Additionally, she teaches professional development courses in the areas of multisensory instruction, advanced decoding skills, and assessment of dyslexia. She has presented sessions in the areas of oral and written language disorders (including dyslexia), multisensory instruction, and childhood apraxia of speech at more than 25 regional and national conferences, including the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), International Dyslexia Association (IDA), Mississippi Speech-Language-Hearing-Association (MSHA), Arkansas Speech-Language-Hearing Association, Childhood Apraxia of Speech Association of North America, and Ole Miss Fall Institute. She holds Mississippi licensure in Speech-Language Pathology and Education (speech-language, pre-K, K-8, and administration). She is co-author of Children with developmental verbal dyspraxia: Changes in articulation and perceived resilience with intensive multimodal intervention as well as a variety of therapy materials. She received the Educational Administration Outstanding Dissertation Award from the College of Education and Human Sciences at Southern Miss, the Outstanding Adjunct Faculty award from Southern Miss, and the Outstanding MSLE Education in a College or University from IMSLEC, as well as eight Awards for Continuing Education from ASHA.
