Karen Edwards, MS, MSW, LCSW, CCC-SLP, began her career as a social worker, working in a variety of settings including residential treatment, community mental health, schools, and private group practice. She took a break to be at home with her two young sons. Upon returning to the workforce, she shifted her career focus and returned to school to pursue a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology. For the past six years, she has worked as a school-based SLP serving students in grades K–12. In November, she transitioned to a new role as a school-based social worker and is currently serving seven elementary schools in the district.
