Janine Benner, MA, CCC-SLP, BCS-CL, received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from California State University Long Beach. She has been a practicing speech-language pathologist for 33 years, with the last 25 years working in pediatrics. Janine is a Board-Certified Specialist in Child Language, certified by the American Board of Child Language and Language Disorders (ABCLL), with a specialized focus on autism and early intervention. Janine is a school-based speech-language pathologist and works with preschool and elementary students. Before working in the public schools, Janine was an Assistant Professor at Loma Linda University in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. She developed and taught undergraduate courses in autism spectrum disorders, language disorders in children, a graduate-level course, Issues in Public School Speech Pathology, and an SLPD course in Neurodiversity. Janine was also a faculty supervisor for two of the department’s pediatric clinics, autism and early intervention, and mentored student research. Janine provides professional development for school district personnel, family consultation and coaching, and consulting services to international programs on program development, staff training, and education. Janine utilizes strength-based, neurodiverse-affirming, and evidence-based approaches to assess and treat young children with autism and complex language disorders. She is passionate about service, mentoring, teaching, and traveling.
