Christina Royster, EdD, CCC-SLP, is the owner and founder of Play on Words Therapy, LLC, a private practice serving children with complex communication needs. Licensed in Maryland and Washington, DC, Christina has been practicing for over eight years, with a clinical focus on Autism, developmental delays, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). She also serves on an AAC team in the public school setting, supporting students through collaborative, technology-driven interventions.
Christina earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication Science and Disorders from the University of Pittsburgh, along with a certificate in Latin American Studies. She completed her Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Maryland, College Park, and recently earned her Doctorate in Education in Leadership and Innovation from Arizona State University.
A passionate advocate for equity and inclusion, Christina is committed to increasing diversity within the speech-language pathology field—particularly in the assistive technology and AAC specialties. Her work reflects a deep dedication to empowering all voices and expanding access to meaningful communication.
