Elizabeth Huertas, MS, SLP, is a bilingual (Spanish/English) speech-language pathologist and former preschool teacher. During her years in early childhood education, she worked at a private school in Peru and obtained her master’s degree in hearing, speech, language, and learning disabilities. She later moved to the United States to work for the Pasadena Unified School District in California.
With nearly twenty years of experience, her passion and commitment to students and their families continue to drive her work each day. In her current role, she conducts bilingual assessments to distinguish between language disorders and language differences, and she educates multidisciplinary teams on the critical importance of considering students’ language backgrounds.
