Caris Giessler, MA, completed her undergraduate degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders, Medical Spanish, and Leadership at James Madison University in Virginia. Her primary interests lie in acquired neurological disorders and degenerative diseases. As a graduate student during the pandemic, she feels grateful to have had the opportunity to provide AAC trials via teletherapy, gain her first exposure to the acute care setting, and complete adult outpatient placements at two different hospitals. She is currently on the journey of applying for a clinical fellowship.
