Palilalia

Palilalia

Overview:

Palilalia is the involuntary repetition of one’s own words or phrases. Repetitions often become faster and quieter over time and are associated with neurological disorders. It is most commonly seen in Parkinson’s disease, Tourette syndrome, and some forms of dementia. SLPs differentiate palilalia from stuttering and echolalia to guide appropriate management.
