Malnutrition

Malnutrition

Overview:

Malnutrition occurs when the body lacks necessary nutrients due to inadequate intake or absorption. It can impact physical growth, cognitive development, and oral-motor function. In pediatrics, SLPs often address feeding issues that contribute to or result from malnutrition. Treatment focuses on safe, efficient feeding and nutritional intake to support health and development.
