Loudness

Loudness

Overview:

Loudness is the perceptual correlate of sound intensity and reflects how soft or loud a voice is perceived. It is regulated by subglottal pressure and vocal fold closure. Voice disorders may cause reduced or excessive loudness, affecting communication clarity and vocal health. SLPs help clients modify loudness to meet communicative and social demands.
