Accent Modification

Accent Modification

Overview:

Accent Modification is a client-requested service offered by SLPs to help improve intelligibility and confidence in spoken communication. It targets speech production elements such as consonant and vowel precision, prosody, stress patterns, and rate of speech. This service is elective and not considered a treatment for a disorder. Goals are client-directed and culturally respectful. SLPs use phonetic training and real-world practice to enhance clarity.
