Working with resistant clients can be draining and frustrating. In this workshop, participants will learn to be able to take a step back from the client’s behavior itself and begin to look at what might be driving the behavior. They will learn several possible reasons for the resistant behavior and how to identify them. Participants will also learn the basic principles of behaviorism and how to use them with resistant clients. They will gain an in depth understand of power struggles and learn several concrete strategies for dealing with resistance effectively.
