Clinicians will learn how skills such as inferencing, reasoning, predicting, attention, flexibility, working memory, and world knowledge all influence a student’s ability to navigate social interactions successfully. Margo also shares a targeted intervention strategy designed to support positive social communication outcomes in older students while helping SLPs think more critically about the underlying neurocognitive demands of pragmatic functioning.
This session will also discuss ways to collaborate with teachers and other professionals to support carryover and create more meaningful, functional communication outcomes across settings.
