This final session presents a case-based approach for pediatricians and speech-language pathologists, examining collaborative, interprofessional care for pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders (PFD). Melissa Davis, MS, CCC-SLP, CLC; Paul Ruff, MD; Rachel Crutchfield, MD; and Michelle Dawson, MS, CCC-SLP, CLC, BCS-S, FNAP guide participants through real-world clinical decision-making.
Using a complex pediatric case, participants will explore how medical and therapeutic perspectives intersect across assessment and intervention. The session emphasizes coordinated care, differential diagnosis, and how to navigate cases where underlying medical factors are unclear or evolving.
Grounded in interprofessional collaboration, this session highlights role delineation, communication across disciplines, and strategies to support accurate diagnosis and effective treatment planning. Participants will leave with a clearer framework for working within complex cases while delivering cohesive, patient-centered care for children with PFD and their families.
