This conference will discuss various topics on the assessment and treatment of Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS). ASHA defines CAS as "a neurological childhood (pediatric) speech sound disorder in which the precision and consistency of movements underlying speech are impaired in the absence of neuromuscular deficits (e.g., abnormal reflexes, abnormal tone)." Topics to explore include the differential diagnosis of CAS, motor-based deficits in CAS using dynamic temporal tactile cueing (DTTC), and practical CAS applications.
