Head injuries and concussions are major issues in America today. With 3.8 million recreation-related concussions reported each year and over 150,000 head-injured veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan the importance of being up to date on the topic of concussion and TBI has never been higher. The course explores the research and case-study evidence that will equip healthcare and allied healthcare professionals to provide more complete and appropriate treatment options and overall care for their patients. This course is a pivotal training experience for anyone concerned with helping a child or adult with concussion or TBI issues, particularly focusing on sports-related injuries. Oregon Health & Science University, the Defense Centers of Excellence for Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury (DCoE), VAs National Center for Rehabilitative Auditory Research, and NW Eye Care Professionals have come together with leaders in the field, to present the research and interventions to treat the whole person.
