In this episode Michelle is joined with Dana Entwistle, MS CCC-SLP, Pediatric Feeding Clinical Specialist at Levine Children’s Hospital (LCH) in Charlotte, North Carolina. Dana, who has presented at CNOC (Cardiac Neurodevelopmental Outcome Collaborative) for her work with the development of the Cardiac Nasogastric Tube program at LCH, was a founding member of the Cardiac Neurodevelopment Team, and is a part of the outpatient Aerodigestive Team for infants and children with ongoing dysphagia. In this episode, Dana shares her passion for all things dysphagia in the pediatric PICU and CICU. She educates the listener as to what a typical day entails for an SLP who works in her settings, common medical considerations for cardiac patients, as well as how to improve continuity of care amongst interprofessional practice partners for optimal patient outcomes.
