This course uses the concept of Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and its relationship to overall learning to address the challenges faced by students with Special Needs. It discusses the kinds of accommodations, modifications, and interventions that facilitate the development lifelong skills that bring an awareness of the students themselves and foster positive interaction with others. The course will provide a variety of reliable resources that will provide for all students, regardless of ability, as well as, some designed for special populations. Finally, the course will offer the opportunity to experience the kinds of struggles students with Special Needs face and provide training that will allow for participants to facilitate this kind of awareness in others.
