In honor of ASHA's 100th anniversary, Speech Therapy PD is excited to present a podcast miniseries called Learning from Legends. In this first episode, Mary Beth Hines, host of Keys for SLPs Podcast, will be joined by Scott Yaruss and Nina Reeves for an hour of engaging and insightful conversation about their careers, the evolution of fluency disorders, pivotal and impactful research, and their vision for the future of the profession.

Mary Beth Hines, MS, CCC-SLP, is a speech-language pathologist in Cincinnati, OH. She works in telepractice for Life Speech Pathology as well as the non-profit, Voices for Parkinson's.  After graduating from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA, she worked in sales and marketing in Chicago and Boston. She returned to school to pursue a career in speech-language pathology and earned a Master of Science in Communicative Disorders from the University of Redlands in 1999. She worked in adult rehabilitation in Los Angeles and Cincinnati and in private practice, specializing in orofacial myology. Mary Beth is the host of the podcast Keys for SLPs and a moderator for SpeechTherapyPD.

Nina Reeves

Nina Reeves is a board-certified specialist in fluency differences, and Director of Stuttering Therapy Resources. Nina is a career-long public school clinician, specializes in stuttering therapy for children, adolescents, and young adults. As an author, presenter her goal is to provide practical information to clinicians working with students who stutter.

J Scott Yaruss

PhD, CCC-SLP, BCS-F, F-ASHA
J. Scott Yaruss is a professor of communicative sciences and disorders at Michigan State University and the president of Stuttering Therapy Resources. His research, which is funded by both the NIH and the NSF, focuses on reducing the adverse impact of stuttering. He has published several hundred articles and given more than one thousand continuing education and research presentations for audiences around the world.
