Definition:

Adult traumatic brain injury (TBI) is brain damage caused by external mechanical force, commonly from falls, motor vehicle accidents, or violence, resulting in cognitive, physical, and emotional impairments.

Common Types:

  • Mild TBI (concussion)
  • Moderate TBI
  • Severe TBI
