Working /r/ or Teaching /r/?

Stop failing at the /r/ sound!

This course will be very different from the others that you have attended. You will learn to address your client's needs, get the articulators in position, and get your client to repeat their /r/ productions meaningfully.

You will become partners with your clients. Therapy is exhilarating when the client can discuss their errors with the clinician and do so accurately!

Tactile therapy will help us teach the /r/ quickly to students and provide more dynamic diagnostic information about those clients who do not improve quickly. Tactile therapy can help determine why our students misarticulate the /r/ and provide the basis for treatment.

When treatment is meaningful, effective, and organized, you will have time to do your job during allotted work hours. Dismissing children with a distorted /r/ yearly provides time to your schedule and the ability to complete the remainder of your necessary duties.

Our goal is to not only remediate the /r/ sound but do so efficiently, allowing you to have a manageable caseload. Your students will learn a strategy to determine the accuracy of their sounds, repeat correct and incorrect sounds, and analyze what went wrong, allowing them to self-correct almost spontaneously.

In this session, you will have fun producing incorrect /r/ in words to help determine the mistakes your clients are making. We will investigate why children struggle with the vocalic /r/ sound and producing /r/ from words to conversation.
