This episode features Dr. Davis-McFarland discussing poverty and language acquisition. There is research that indicates that poverty affects children’s brain development, so we will discuss whether that may account for a different language development that results in poor children needing speech and language therapy. She will share three things we need to know about language acquisition and poverty.
