This is Part 2 of a 4-part course: Stuttering is a complex disorder area where we must look beyond the physical disfluencies to support the client and long-term effective communication. Every person who stutters is different; therefore, every treatment plan and session for people who stutter should look completely different. This course will explore stuttering cases ranging from teens/older students to adults, where we learn how to incorporate person-centered therapy. Goals for these clients are centered around evidence for supporting the cognitive, emotional, and social facets of stuttering. Participants will hear and discuss how to approach our clients who stutter holistically, incorporating various principles and strategies. We will discuss frequently asked questions regarding stuttering therapy and specific examples of effectively managing difficult cases.
