Identifying suspected childhood apraxia of speech in early intervention can be a daunting task, leaving many therapists feeling uncertain. These children are often very young, have limited attention spans, and may have difficulty producing sounds. Research supports the early implementation of AAC for toddlers and preschoolers with functional communication needs and allows for the implementation of high-tech AAC often and early. This Early Intervention track will include presentations on suspected CAS, the use of AAC, and bilingual assessment.
