Selective mutism is a frustrating disorder for children, parents, SLPs, and educators. This presentation will provide techniques for evaluation and treatment by increasing “communication confidence.”
The focus is on engagement and improvement of all types of communication, individually, in peer groups, and in classrooms. Case examples will be presented. Differential diagnosis and comorbidities
are explained.
