This course is Part I of a two-episode series. This course will describe the unique needs of clients with Down syndrome as they progress into adulthood. Participants will explore the need for continued speech-language pathology intervention throughout adulthood. Topics will include speech clarity, comprehensibility, facilitation of social communication, specific treatment targets, communication to foster independent living, and resources to help the clinician serve clients with Down syndrome throughout the lifespan.
