This course will review how SLPs can introduce and implement strength-based approaches for neurodiverse students in school-based settings. Concepts of neurodiversity and strength-based approaches will be reviewed. Research on using strength-based approaches and outcomes in schools will be presented. The presenter will discuss steps to implement strength-based approaches (assessment, goals, and evidence-based strategies), as well as staff and parent awareness, training, and coaching. The presenter will share resources for strength-based materials.
