This course meets ASHA's Ethics PD requirement.
Speech-language pathologists practice across a variety of settings. Whether your setting is school-based, private practice, home health, academia, skilled nursing, or hospital-based, ethical standards must be met. Both ASHA and most individual states provide ethical guidance documents, practice regulations, and laws that dictate our practice. However, individuals often question or dismiss the expectations of cross-setting practice. SLPs in medical settings make decisions that immediately impact the quality of life. This course will identify some of the critical skills and knowledge needed to transition to the medical setting.
