Presented by Karyn Lewis Searcy, MA, participants will review the required components of initial evaluation reports, the essential elements of progress reports, and best practices for clinical documentation. Emphasis is placed on writing documentation that clearly reflects clinical reasoning, supports services, and meets professional and payer expectations.
The course also addresses the clinician’s advocacy role. Participants will learn when to contact ASHA and state licensing bureaus and how to support families with insurance appeals related to speech and language service denials. Guidance is provided on using documentation to clarify need, respond to denials, and protect both the clinician and the family.
