Joint attention is the number one precursor to the development of language and communication and is often overlooked in goal setting and care plans. This course explored what joint attention is specific to toddlers with autism. It also discussed ways to cultivate joint attention between child-parent interactions. The need for formal assessment and identifying the importance of a team approach were also presented.
