Caregiver-infant communication characterized by joint attention, infant-directed speech, gestures, and turn-taking promotes language acquisition in 6—to 12-month-olds. This presentation focuses on five caregiver-infant interaction patterns, with before-and-after parent coaching outcomes. Participants will learn to use communication pattern analysis with their pediatric families and learn of its potential benefit across other interactions.
